Day 01: Kathmandu (1350m.) to Jiri (1905)
We take our early drive from Kathmandu (1350m.) to Jiri (1905). Jiri is situated about 188 km. far from Kathmandu which takes about eight hours to reach. The first part of our journey passes through Bhaktapur, Banepa, Dhulikhel, Dolalghat, Lamasanghu. a part of the Araniko Highway and turn to right from Lamasangu for the Jiri road passing through Green Hills scenery as well as snow capped mountains. The road is quite narrow but it is smooth. Jiri is a town named after Jirel, the majority people inhabited in and around the town.
Day 02:Jiri (1905m.) to Deurali (2705m.)
Having lunch at Jiri, we trek to Deurali (2705m.). It takes about six and half hours to reach there. The beginning of our trek is gently ascending towards Mali Danda (2440m.) and then we go to Shivalaya (1800m.). Now the trail steeply goes up for an hour and we reach Deurali.
Day 03: Deurali (2705m.) to Sete (2400m.)
Trek from Deurali (2705m.) to Sete (2400m.). From Sete, our trail is steeply descending up to Bhandar (2250m.) and then gently descends to Kenja (1600m.) where you could enjoy your lunch. En route, one can enjoy the scenery of agricultural farm.
Day 04: Sete (2400m.) to Junbesi (2675m.)
From Sete, we trek to Junbesi (2675m.). We would penetrate the villages such as Dagchu, & Goyem. Then our trail goes to Lamjura Pass (3500m.) through rhododendron forest. En route, one could enjoy some of the snow capped mountains such as the "Goa of the Solu".
Day 05: Junbesi
Today we take rest at Junbesi and explore Thubten Chholing Monastery. The monastery is regarded as the Nunnery Monastery. Besides, we would also visit some of the attractive places of the region.
Day 06:Junbesi (2675m.) to Nunthala (2200m.)
It is our turn to trek from Junbesi (2675m.) to Nunthala (2200m.). From this point, our trail proceeds towards Phurtung (2900m.). It is the place from where we could see first view of Mount Everest including Thamserku (6623m.), Kantega (6780m.), Kusum Kangaru (6370m.) and Mera Peak (6650m.). Now the trail gently descends to Ringmo Khola (2500m.), Takshindo La Pass (3100m.) and then to Nunthala (2200m.).
Day 07: Nunthala (2200m.) to Bupsa (2350m.)
Having breakfast at Nunthala, we trek to Bupsa (2350m.). Penetrating agricultural land of Sherpa and Rai settlements, we go along the Dudh Koshi river. From Dudh Koshi River, our trail goes to Kharikhola (2050m.) passing through Juving (1680m.) a pretty big Rai village. Finally, we reach Bupasa where you could visit Buddhist Monastery and explore the village.
Day 08:Bupsa (2350m.) to Surkey (2400m.)
Today we trek from Bupsa (2350m.) to Surkey (2400m.). At first we reach Khari La Pass (2880m.) passing through rhododendron and oak forest including a small Sherpa settlements and teashops. From this point, one can view excellent view of mountains such as Numbu (6960m.), Cho-oyu (8201m.), Gyangchung Kang (7922m.) and Thamserku (6629m.). Now, the trail is gently descending to Chaubar (2730m.) passing through Bamboo forest and Puiyan (2770m.). We finally reach Surkey, a small Sherpa village at the bottom of Lukla.
Day 09:Surkey (2400m.) to Phakding (2652m.)
Having breakfast at Surkey, we trek to Phakding (2652m.). It takes about four hours to reach Phakding from Surkey. En route, we could penetrate the villages such as Chhiplung (2700m.) and Mushe (2650m.). We finally reach our today’s destination Phakding.
Day 10:Phakding to Namche Bazzar (3440m.)
Having breakfast at Phakding, we commence our trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.).The trail goes along the right bank of Dudh Koshi. Thamserku is standing majestically skyward on the opposite bank. We then reach Bengar. The trail now climbs from the riverbed on the left bank into the mountain, through a forest to Chumoa. We continue along the trail with many ups and downs; cross a stream, and pass by the tiny village Monjo. We then come to Sagarmatha National Park Service where a park entrance fee is to be deposited. We follow a short walk along the riverbed of this V-shaped valley where the river forks Dudh Koshit to the right Bhote Koshi to the left. Now we begin steep ascent to Namche Bazar. On the way, we would have excellent views of Everest (8848m) and Lhotse (8516m.).Surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges, Namche Bazar (3440m) is a central hub of the area for food, trekking gears and other necessary goods.
Day 11:Acclimatization at Namche Bazzar
We take rest at Namche Bazaar (3440 m.) for acclimatization. It is considered as an ideal place for acclimatization to the high altitude before heading towards Tyangboche. We go up to Khhumjung monastery. It is a small settlement of Sherpa community. We enjoy the splendid view of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawche, Kwangde and so on from here. While returning to Namche, we would visit Museum just above the town that exhibits Sherpa culture.
Day 12:Namche Bazzar to Thame (3820m)
Having breakfast at Namche Bazzar, we trek to Thame. It takes about 5 and ½ hours normal walk to reach Thame from Namche Bazzar. The trail starts from the Namche gompa and leads west past a large array of prayer flags, mani stones and chorten. The carved mani stones all the way to Thame are some of the most complex and picturesque in Khumbu.
Day 13: Thame to Khumjung (3780m.)
Taking breakfast at Thfame, we would be heading towards Khumjung (3780m.).
The route starts by climbing up to the Shyangboche airstrip just above the airstrip is the Everest View Hotel, a Japanese scheme to build a deluxe hotel with great views of the highest mountains on Earth. Overnight at Khumjung.
Day 14:Khumjung to Dole (4040m)
We trek from Khumjung to Dole which takes about five hours walk. Soon after leaving Khumjung the trail climbs to a large chorten on top of a ridge. Now we go to Mongla(4000m.). We then trek down to Phortse Tenga (3650m.) and then reach Dole.
Day 15:Dole to Machhermo (4410m)
It is our turn to trek from Dole to Machhermo (4410m). From Dole, we pass through many summer settlements, which are used when yaks are taken to these pastures to graze in the summer months. We have excellent view of Cho Oyu ahead of us. Finally, we arrive at Machhermo.
Day 16:Machhermo to Gokyo (4750m)
From Machhermo we trek to Gokyo (4750m).We follow a very scenic path to Pangka and then descend slightly, following one of the melt-water Rivers which flow down the west side of the Ngozumpa Glacier. We soon arrive at the second lake, crossing the path which heads across the glacier to Cho La (5420m.). The third lake is known as Dudh Pokhari. Magnificent views of Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang can be reflected in the lake.
Day 17: Gokyo
Today we take rest at Gokyo and go for excursion around the valley. Gokyo valley is situated by the side of Ngozumpa glacier, the biggest glacier of Nepal. We can also visit the fifth Lake via forth Lake. Overnight in the camp.
Day 18: Gokyo to Gokyo Ri (5340m) & then to Machhermo (4410m.)
We trek from Gokyo to Gokyo Ri and trek back to Machhermo (4410m.) via Gokyo village. We will not only see the highest mountains, deepest Georges, and beautiful Landscape but also enjoy the festivals and culture of ethnic groups, their way of living. The region is also the home of the Sherpas and a garden of Tibetan Buddhists with their many fascinating monasteries. After lunch, we walk to the village of Machermo following Dudh Koshi stream.
Day 19:Machhermo to Namche Bazaar (3430 m.)
Having lunch at Machhermo, we trek to Namche Bazaar (3430 m). The walk from Machhermo is mostly downhill to Phortsetenga following the forest covered with rhododendron, pine and local incense. After that, we come to Monglo, a place with tea shops. The path now descends gently up to Khumjung and finally we reach Namche. One can view excellent views of mountains such as Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru from Khumjung.
Day 20: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2886 m.)
Having breakfast in the teahouse at Namche Bazaar, we trek to Lukla. It is the last day of our trek. Lunch will be served on the way. Upon arrival at Lukla, we would get refreshed and take rest.
Day 21:Lukla to Kathmandu
We board our early flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at TIA, we would be received by our representatives and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, we go for shopping. Farewell dinner will be served, a typical Nepali restaurant.
